Students in schools across America require consistent, challenging programs that will capture their interest and prepare them for a lifetime of learning. They require knowledge and skills that will help them compete in a global economy and allow them to lead lives of integrity and satisfaction, both as citizens and individuals. The Stepping Stone Curriculum, Grades Our curriculum plays a significant role in our school's success. It enhances a child's development physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively, linguistically, and aesthetically. It also promotes the development of knowledge, critical thinking, curiosity, and a profound desire for our students to compete and excel. Our program offers a fundamental understanding in a variety of disciplines. Literacy and Mathematics are our main focus area and we introduce our students to Social Studies, Science, and Geography. Students are provided information on a daily basis on these topics. They are also encouraged to retain the information given and are evaluated on a regular basis to determine our effectiveness. Our curriculum has a component that incorporates an annual update and or revision. Programs plans are designed to avoid sex role stereotyping and include services for special needs of children, with supportive social and emotional climate to provide an environment of acceptance which enables\enhances children's understanding of themselves. Four year olds begin with the Creative Curriculum for Pre-School 4th Edition and if they exceed these demands they are promoted to our advance curriculum. There are many variables that are taken into consideration before we plan our instructions. They are as follows:With the above in mind, our program offers a wealth of opportunity to provide for multiple differences. Our materials are challenging and open ended. They are attractively arranged in learning centers such as housekeeping, dramatic play, music, math, science, blocks, sand/water, woodworking and library. These areas will remain completely stocked with materials as set forth in "Creative Curriculum 4th Ed. Chpts. 6-16". These centers win definitely promote physical, social, cognitive, linguistic and emotional growth. This will also stimulate a sense of wonder, discovery , exploration, challenge and satisfaction. Children are given choices. |
